I
wandered about outside last week to capture some final images of fall. My
timing was impeccable as a few days later we were blanketed in a heavy quilt of
snow. While I love the splendor that fall provides, it's really rather magical
to be in a world of white, perhaps because it's rather rare these days for it
to last.
And last it will not, as we are expecting a weekend of freezing rain and
ice pellets. We should probably break out the movie Ice Castles and call Uncle
right now. I don't think anybody will be going anywhere.
Our renovations are on hold until after the holidays; we needed a break.
It's almost done but not quite enough to have the house completely back in
order, but since we won't be hosting any Christmas fiestas this year, it'll
do.
It
was the Artist's birthday yesterday and for the first time I can ever remember,
we didn't have a tree to place his gifts under. A
normal birthday....I wonder if he liked it.
The Artist wants to thin out our little woods and I noticed, a few months ago, a tree with a definite lean to it. We'll be chopping that one down and using the top for our tree this year. We've grown weary of our local Christmas tree farm with its perfect trees and exorbitant prices. I'm digging this year's free and local version. Here's hoping it's not covered in too much ice.

Oh, i love this last photo - i don't know what to call it - the flower you used to post your 5 today.
I am glad to know I'm not the only one feeling the season needs personal consideration . . (pull back from the madness - my words, of course.)
It's gonna be like 40 degrees here this morning - and freezing rain this afternoon . . Mother Nature is showing out.
Your photos are gorgeous. Happy Birthday to the artist. Stay warm and safe and enjoy the tree! Merry Merry!
So much simple beauty in your photos today -- it is always there if we choose to see it.
Happy Birthday to your Artist -- and good for you on the tree decision. Love it. xo
Mmmm, beautiful images today! I too love the simplicity of them. My Christmas decorations were sacrificed this year for home improvements also! However, I couldn't stand it and had to set up the old fake tree. I miss all the sparkle, what can I say. Have a wonderful peaceful holiday season!

Just checking in...we miss seeing what's going on at your farm and with your family...hope all is well. -Mary
wonderful pics!
I just read your goodbye. I'm so sad to hear this. Men can be horrible. My own husband had an affair with his secretary, but we went to counseling and we got back together. That was 22 years ago. In your case, things were different. Please, DO take some time to talk to somebody...a counselor maybe? It will be good to let go of all your feelings...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I have always, and will always, admire you my Bee Girl friend ♥ Please keep in touch. You know a certain gal in Tennessee and I would like to move you closer to us. But we could be a lil selfish ;) We love you! -Tammy & the whole FCF gang

john gottman, http://www.gottman.com/, to help understand things. I know it helped me understand what happened in my first marriage (12 years!). Made my second marriage (15 yrs and counting!)stronger, and we are both better for it.
BTW it will be ok. just in case you needed to hear it. :)
