One Bag Full

Once upon a time, there was a girl, newly planted in the country that read how one could make a beautiful wreath by using dried corn husks. So, one fall evening, before the farmer finished ploughing the cornfield around her house, she grabbed a large garbage bag, a flashlight and her husband and under the cover of darkness they filled that garbage bag as full as could be. They stowed it away in the garage, keeping it safe and dry for a few days until she could make her beautiful wreath.

Over the next four years, her husband would clean out the garage each spring and each fall and he'd ask her, "are you ever going to make that wreath, or should we just throw this out?" "Oh, no!" she replied, "I'm going to make that wreath this year" but her garden grew bigger each year, chickens appeared in her yard, and bees buzzed all around and she never did make that wreath, until this year.

It really didn't take that long for her to make the wreath. In as much time as it took her husband to prepare dinner, she had those corn husks bundled tightly with twine along an old wire coat hanger and hung up on her front door.

And then she wondered to herself, "Why, the heck didn't I do that sooner?"

And then because that garbage bag was still half full of corn husks, she decided to make another wreath.

She hasn't gotten around to it quite yet, but she will make another. Oh yes she will.
