This or That Thursday: eDition 30

From the top:

The onion harvest is in, drying and looking good. A smaller crop than last year, but enough to see us through the bulk of winter and a reminder to order my onion sets earlier next year. Thank goodness for 'next year'.

A visitor to the butterfly bush, a part of our wedding garden. A garden that is thriving with beautiful shrubs given to us by friends and family. It hides the septic covers and is the favourite locale for sunbathing chickens. I'm not sure who the garden benefits from more, us or the chickens. I probably shouldn't ask, should I?

Sunset, last night. It's never the same, and it never gets tiresome. Thank goodness for chickens to tuck in or I'd miss a lot more of these.

Cosmos, how I love thee, almost as much as lavender. If only I didn't have to purchase you every year and pot you and water you daily. Lavender wins hands down, but you are still very lovely my dear.

Measuring this year's corn. Without a doubt, we are surrounded by the tallest corn in both counties that the farm straddles. Twice as high, if not more, than in most areas. We didn't get much rain, but a tricky micro-climate, that refuses to leave us much snow in the winter, has blessed us with just enough rain over the last few months. Before this photo, I would have said the corn was 7-8 feet tall. The twins are just over 5 feet, so this corn is surely 10 feet high, on it's tippy toes. It's also being harvested next week, highly unusual for that to happen before Thanksgiving.

Will wonders never cease? Hopefully not, just so long as the twins don't reach 10 feet on their tippy toes.

~Be well friends

Seems to me you are showered with blessings. Many had no crops at all this year.

Great pictures.

Wow, that corn is tall! You were blessed to get that this year. Hope it is a quality crop as well as a tall crop.
