It is with deep regret that I come to you with news of a heavy frost earlier this week.
Those magnolia blooms that were coaxed out of hiding far too early have seen better days.
Much better days.
But things are still greening up around these parts. Just the addition of green on the willows makes things look a little less barren looking.
Did you know willows are a wonderful source of pollen for bees. Me neither, but whoa Nelly they are bringing in lots of it right now.
We're still in waiting mode for chick arrival. I stayed home yesterday just in case the stork decided to arrive.
It was the only warm and sunny day forecasted this week. I figured that was a sign. Apparently sign language isn't my forte.
And where have I been the last few days?
Glad you asked. I've been recuperating.
I ran my first race over the weekend and like my grandmother used to sing...
the old gray mare ain't what she used to be.
It was fun and just enough to keep me on track. I never pictured myself as a runner
but a family history of heart disease can make you do funny things
and for a day or two I felt like one of those frost-bruised mangolia blossoms.
A run yesterday cured what ailed me and now, how about a game of Where's Waldo,
with a twist of where is Andrea?

Great job on the race - I raced last weekend too :-)
Beautiful pictures -
Ah, yes, I am waiting the late spring frost ax to drop.
great job on the texture.
terrific shots, too.
happy thursday!
...and congrats on the run!
Your photographs are always so pretty! Congratulations on the run! A few friends and I signed up for a half marathon, but unlike you, we'll be walking it instead of running it. But we're moving instead of sitting, so I figured it counts. :-)
That's a shame about the magnolia blooms. At least you got a beautiful picture before the frost. The willow tree is gorgeous. Love the frame too. And congrats on running a race. I'm a walker, but every now and then I think I'll start running. I change my mind as soon as I get outside. I think I'll stick with walking.
The magnolia is Beautiful!!
I love the Willow tree, I want a willow tree so bad they are gorgeous trees.
Good Morning Andrea! I hear you on the heart thing. No running for me but I do my heart healthy walks around the Tiny Ten. Good for you on the race! Sorry about the magnolia. Pretty pictures as always :)
good fro you on running! I couldn't rundown the street if I had too haha! (well, maybe!) we will be getting our eggs soon from the local farmer to hatch our chicks. Kids can't wait!
Oh the weird weather! No magnolias here to get frosted, though. Congratulations on the run---I can't imagine doing it myself. Just walking for half an hour with my new artificial hip is enjoyable after a year and a half of misery. ;-)
I see you smiling at the camera (or the photographer)!
Spring is looking beautiful in your part of the world... we have daffodils but our magnolia blooms much later, which sounds fortunate for it's health!
And yep, I did know that about willow trees, because I'm allergic.. to them and just about every fir tree there is. Ironic since I live in the "Evergreen State" of Washington!
Hope those babies arrive soon,
~Chris
Are you smiling straight at us??? I'm in mourning for your magnolias. I can't believe you have daffs up and willow trees leafed out! We had more snow last night. yeesh.
I LOVE that first one- WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for you on the race! You know I run? Been sidelined for a bit though since I'm FINALLY getting around to addressing long standing ankle issues. ANYWAY... I think I see you in that last shot and love the pretty yellow in your photos! :)
great photography, love the magnolia blossom, and your textures add the perfect touch!
Congrats on the run!! Beautiful magnolia blossom!! I wish I lived where you did, it is so pretty!! I think you are the one smiling? xo Heather
Well, I can find you Andrea!
I enjoy seeing the 1st signs of spring down in your neck of the woods. I hope this doesn't mean damage to the magnolias there.
I did notice some green popping up at the base of my chives. But that's it so far here!
Take cae-Kimberly
Spring joys have some spring woes in our little "slice" of the world. We have Trillium (protected in Michigan) in our woods. Sad to say, they have been "bit by Jack"' Frost that is . . .
Congrat's on the run . . . I keep saying I am going to do that. It would be a walk for me though.
Are you the smiling one?
Happy for you regarding the run. Wonderful accomplishiment - but so sorry about the frost. I'm hoping we don't experience that this spring.
Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursday!
Good for you on your run. I agree the older we get the harder it is to get better from what ails us.
Love the willow tree picture.

congrats on that run. I dislike running intensely...but I'm really happy to walk a lot...I LOVE to walk, and ride my stationary bike :) :)
Thanks for sharing your photos with us. I love seeing all the nature shots :) :) I"m getting ready to start carrying my camera everywhere with me again, because the plants are starting to come into bloom again :)
Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
Wow, those are fantastic! Love the willow tree shot!
Really beautiful photos. I tried to get back into running this year but my knee has told me to stick to walking.
It has been in the 80's here in southeast Missouri for 2 weeks, but I'm still too scared to plant new flowers... it's just so early for all this Spring color, but I'm not complaining... wish it was year-round! =)
Love the frame for the Willow pic... where'd you get it?
Good thing you got that beautiful magnolia shot =0
Beautiful images! I absolutely love the second textured scenery... divine!!
Your Spring blooms are so pretty. although the snow flurries last night were a bit annoying. Sorry about the frost getting your magnolia blooms. Our first home had a beautiful 25 year old saucer magnolia on the front lawn. With often cool, wet and windy Spring here in Canada, the blooms often didn't last more than a few days. But they were magnificent while they lasted.
