It is a learning process for sure but I am amazed how many people want to stick their heads in the sand over this. Everyone wants to say it cost more to eat healthy as their excuse but it doesn't really...you eliminate all the processed and junk food and you acutally spend less. My sister who is a great teacher and has four kids...I cringe at their daily diet. Would like to see more posts on this...I encourage everyone to watch the documentary Food, Inc. It is an eye opener.

Thanks for the reminder....I do need to try more recipes from my vegetarian cookbooks! It is so easy to fall back on the "meat and potatoes" diet of the past, but so much healthier to make eating meat and poultry a treat instead of everyday fare. I highly recommend the Moosewood series of cookbooks.

Oh darlin' this is so true. It's what we put into our body that truly counts.

I'm blessed with great skin and few wrinkles. So much so I'll get asked if I'm sons wife. (Drives him nuts, I just smile) People will stop me in the isles and ask me what I use on my skin.

I'll tell 'em (Equates Healthy Skin and Virgin Coconut Oil for a night cream) but even more important is not what ya put on your skin but what ya put in your body. It's true.

God bless you sweetie for puttin' the word out there...our nation is sadly killin' itself.

Have a 'healthy' day my friend! :o)

Oh yes indeed . . . it is work to make the changes but so worth it!

We viewed the full Fire House video a year ago and since then we have been making step upon step changes into our diet. There are several excellent books available with great recipes. I have also been able to adapt some of my favourite recipes.

Thanks for shaing Andrea . . .

This is fantastic...I would add, that meat is okay...if it comes from organic sources, though :) :)...but I so believe that the majority of our health problems stem from the crappy food that we eat. Ever since i started eating healthier/following a gluten free diet, I'm seeing some really good improvements in my health..and these were things that doctors said could never be reversed. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
