Highway 59: A Series - Take 3

The third in a series of barns along Highway 59.
If you missed them you can visit here for barn one and here for barn two.
As I pulled up in front of this barn I could hear the scurry of a mad semblance of tidying going on about the place. This sweet dame, it seemed, was just not familiar with company dropping by unexpectedly or planned for that matter. When asked if her photo could be taken, she replied with a rather demure tone, "Who, me?" This girl has been nothing but a hard worker her entire life and retirement is nowhere in sight but she's okay with that. "Better to have a life with purpose than a life spent idle", she advised. I nodded slowly in agreement as I remembered my grandmother's oft used phrase, 'waste not, want not' and then I turned and asked if she remembered that young couple, sixty years ago , so in love, taking photos as they waited near Hickson for a ride. "What advice did you dispel to them?" I asked, perhaps with more wonder than question.

And she told them the future.

Of a wonderful granddaughter who would some day join the family.

They smiled. At her. At each other. Knowing that in years to come, warm happiness would be held in their arms...a baby named Andrea.

LYLAS!
