Rural Roams: Portugal

The male twin started off his summer vacation with a spur of the moment trip to Portugal.
Again.
Some kids have all the luck.
What's a mom to do when she gets left behind?
Why send the kid with a camera and tell him to take lots of pictures.
I spoke to him after a week in to his stay and he hadn't remembered to take his camera with him on any ventures. So I did what any mom would do and told him no pictures, no chickens.
That must have done the trick because he took the above photo just for me because I 'like old things and this is old".
Lucky for me everything in Portugal is old and yes, almost every building has a clay roof.
I've had so much fun editing his photos it's almost as good as going there myself.
Okay not really. He took some great pictures but they can't replace the wonderful seafood. I put in an order for a photo of the fish market; it's absolutely incredible.
And all I got was this picture of sardines. Have you ever had sardines from a can? They don't taste anything like these. They're cooked whole, over an open fire and then eaten entirely whole. Well, you could if you wanted to, I guess, but I prefer to skip the head and tail. I had you there didn't I?
Fruit bokeh. The kid's a genius.
And there you have it. All images in this post are of Porto, taken by the male twin, aka rural revival jr.

We hope you've enjoyed another Rural Roams segment. It's not exactly in our backyard but still worth a peek.

Backyard or not, Andrea, Portugal's one of only a handful of countries I'd really like to get to, so seeing these keeps my dream alive.

The streets resemble San Francisco, CA but the buildings and rooftops are something of their own...so so pretty. Putting it on the list of places to see!

He's doing a great job with the photos. What a lucky guy!
We had a Portugeuse customer that went home every August and if I remember right he said that there was a time in the summer when the whole country shuts down practically for vacation. I don't know how that could work, but that's what he told us!

WOW! I love all the photos your kid took! Lucky you.
Very talented like mom. Why do our kids get to travel and we get to stay home? My daughter was in Africa last month. At least we got some great photos out of the deal!

The pic with colorful old buildings, laundry hung out and the modern cube! Wow! Love it. So many dimensions to it.
Tell the male twin along with horsemanship as a hobby, he also has established an eye for photography!
