Room for Two

After being dropped off by the school bus today, someone quickly came to realize he forgot to pack his key this morning. And while I wish it would have fazed him, just a little, so perhaps it wouldn't happen again, he made do with the best of a rather unideal situation. I was relieved to not only see some life skills put to use, but I was also delighted to learn that our border patrol guard aspires to be the next Nana. Only instead of the Darling children, her charges are the Glimmer Twins. Not a bad gig, if you can get it.

So what was the solution?  Well, it seems Callie invited the male twin in for milk and cookies and then they relaxed on the front porch of her manger and shared the highlights of their day with each other.

  3. i've been known to share a dog house! i slept all night with one of our Catahoula hounds in order to keep putting clotting meds and pressure on her ear after a bad wound - she's sleep, then wake up and shake her head and it would reopen a gusher and i'd start all over again - couldn't have her in the house and couldn't risk her bleeding out overnight! (she's fine).

i'm glad glimmer boy survived just fine with his sweet friend!

  4. Lucky he had a back up plan! And one that was warm and dry. Once again it's proven that a dog is a man's best friend :)

  10. I don't think he cared one bit!

Now, about sharing Annie's stall when he comes to work on the farm...

1.she loves to cuddle deep in her straw.
2 she adores being scratched on the neck while she falls asleep
3 she does not share her hay-he will need a snack with him each night!

  11. Very creative solution! Rates up there with dragging the picnic table to beneath the bathroom window, hoisting you or your brother through the easily opened window to unlock the back door! I guess forgetting the key is in his genes!

My guess is that female twin was not on the bus, or would not get in the dog house!
    Bet she had her key....

  15. Great photos and story; I cannot imagine, nor do I want to try, life without my dogs. Whenever one goes on before, I console myself with the knowledge they will greet me when I get to heaven.

  17. Hehe...love this post. He can save this picture for later on in life. When/if he gets in trouble with his wife, he can drag this photo out and say "Well, I've been in the dog house before." ;>)
