Growth and Harvest

We're winding up a four day weekend around the old farmhouse and although we did pause to remember the meaning behind the holiday, our main objective was for this to be a working weekend. It wasn't all work though, we were playfully distracted, as well. So much so, that I had no opportunity for creating any barn posterity with my trusty sidekick, Nikon.

While this isn't the photograph of a barn, it is a photograph of a painting of a barn, by the Artist, of course. And while the original gets to hang in someone else's home, I told the Artist, this copy should be hanging in ours because this barn is exactly what we picture at the back of our little homestead someday, ready and waiting for animals. And that field, well, it reminds me of our garden, raked and hoed over the weekend; the garlic is coming along nicely, and lettuces and Swiss chard have been planted.

All is ready for another season of growth and harvest, in the garden, around the homestead, and in our hearts. Here's to a season of growth and harvest for all you.

I hope we will stil be LYLAS!
    Promise me?
    Honest?

I am in love with the hands of the Artist! Any man with talent like that....well Good Golly Miss Molly! You can tell he is as beautiful on the inside as the out! What soulful soul, he is!

I am so glad he is taken by YOU :)

And now about that work of Art by the Artist! Yes, it must hang in your home! When one does, your admiring *and his* public would love to see the wall it graces.

And for the many inquiring minds, along with mine, does the Artist sell his work on any site that we could peruse? Please say Yes! If not, I do believe one is needed!

I thought about you and the Rural Revival fam all Sunday. The Easter Bunny came by looking for Glimmer Twins.
J told him *wrong country*, dude!
    LYLAS!

  4. Ooooh how I love that artwork! It is so textural... not sure if that is a word but it should be. And I love that it fits your vision for your farm :)

Happy to hear you've been getting some better weather and could work in your garden!

  5. Andrea, I am quite fond of your Artist's artistry! Love the barn art!!

My lettuce and onions look pretty healthy, although waterlogged. And I have 3 or 4 garlic (plants??) that I forgot I set out last year. I need to study up on what to do with them.. and when :) I'm also digging out dandelions in the herbs and perennials with my new $3 dandy-digging tool purchased today. Oh my, best tool ever!! (I'll be at this task awhile, so I'd better love it).

Here's to a wonderful growing season for all of us! -Tammy

  11. Wow the artist is very talented. I love this whimsy portrait. I would have hated to sell the original but welcome to the art world, right? I would so have it hanging in my kitchen with other barn depictions I bought of other talented artists.
    Thanks for sharing. B

  15. What a fun painting...I love the whimsy in it! And I'm jealous...there's no planting here yet, the constant rain has turned everything to mud. I know I'll be begging for it in the heat of summer, but oh, how I wish the rain could just even itself out through the seasons!
