Spring is just around the corner.
How do I know this?
It could be the smell in the air,
little spots of green popping up everywhere
or the lack of hardwood in the woodshed.
It's ALL gone!
But it ain't any of those things.
Nope.
I know this because our outdoor work has begun.
And we've only hit first gear.
Until we're ready to start up the wood stove and start boiling,
we're storing our sap in this barrel.
Someone around here was clever enough to come up with a unique
storage solution. We're using a new and washed rain barrel; emptying it will be a breeze
with its handy dandy spout.
~Be well friends~

Looks like a lot of work, but will be worth it in the end I am sure!
I will be looking forward to seeing how this works...and how much syrup you get from it.
Can't wait to see the end result.
Love all things that are "handy-dandy":))
Have a wonderful "springing" week:)
I can't wait either!
To see all the great posts where you show everything from A-Z!
Could you maybe have a giveaway with some of this yummy stuff? If I won, it would give me an excuse to ask J to make his famous pancakes~which I never ask for because he makes such a famous mess :)

How beautiful. Now that is something that I have never done and I find it fascinating. I can imagine the satisfaction you must feel accomplishing something so rich!
Mmmmm nothing better than fresh maple syrup! Lucky you!
My mouth is watering.
Yup, sugarin` is a fine way of knowing spring is near. Mister spent all weekend helping our neighbor tap, gather and boil!
A sore back is the Mother of invention! Good for you guys! Love maple syrup. :)
Oh how wonderful to make syrup from you own trees!!! Looking forward to seeing the process for sure!!
What a great idea for storage. I can hardly wait to see what you do with this to process it into syrup.
