Sneak Peek & A Giveaway

Because Monday is over and because the fine folks at CSN are so generous, I'm hosting an impromptu giveaway tonight.

And while we're at it, because being one day closer to the weekend is such a good thing, I'm going to give you a sneak peek at our first, and oh so close to being finished, renovation at the old farmhouse.

The Artist rebuilt this room from floor to ceiling with a platform bed in between.

A tall platform bed, at that.
Don't let this cool cat fool you. The room wasn't done for her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To enter, leave me a comment and tell me would you, could you sleep on a platform bed, would you, could you if it was five feet high? And if that's too personal, you can always tell me which of the many platform beds CSN offers strike your fancy.
If you're a Rural Reveler or decide life's too short not to become one, leave a second comment and you'll be entered a second time.
~~~~~~~~~~

I will select the winner, using the random integer, on Friday, October 1st. Please have your entry/entries in by 7pm EST. Oh yes, the prize! It's a $35 gift certificate for use at any CSN on-line store.

 ~Good luck friends~

No 5 foot platform bed for me... I'm afraid of heights, really I am. When my daughter visited Toronto last fall for the first time, they went to CN Tower (did I get the name right?) and I almost hyperventilated just looking at the pictures! Nope, I'm much happier close to the floor but I bet someone in your household is thrilled!

Can't wait to see the finished project... I think I see some beadboard on the ceiling??!!

Chris

PS love the plaid too!

Hi Andrea - thanks for stopping by and visiting me and the cats and for leaving a comment - I love comments! I like this platform bed: http://www.bedroomfurniture.com/Canwood-Furniture-302-5-CWF1240.html - it's one that is in natural wood color with a bookshelf in the headboard, and 2 drawers underneath. And you know me, I'm already a Rural Reveler - and it's only 10:44pm here in central KY. Have you finished with Prodigal Summer? I need to get some batteries for my boom box, so that I can listen to the book on CD while I unpack over the next number of days/weeks! Take care, from KY.

I'd love the tallest platform bed there is. We have 18 ft bedroom ceilings and I could catch the tallest dreams up there!

i now follow you. we used to live in a gothic revival home 1891- the hattie a. story house. my daughter used to refer to it as the hattie house. i loved that house despite all its quirks and headaches. we now live in a newer home (1920) with fewer quirks but just as many headaches. :-)
thanks!

I like platform beds (I don't like box springs). I've never slept on one so high. I think I'm a sleep closer to the ground kind of gal.

Your platform bed looks very interesting. I can't wait to see the full reveal. We're in the process of making a bed frame out of skids for my son. Are you sure you didn't make this bed for Kitty? She sure looks like she has claimed ownership of the space! Have a great day!

I don't think I'd have any problems sleeping on a platform bed. Maybe the ceiling fan would decapitate me though...
My hubby built a platform bed for our daughter many years ago. It was only about 3 1/2 feet of the floor, perfect for the little ones to play under and stash all their toys. Sadly we had to leave it when we moved...
Have a great day,
Anke

I'm a wee bit afraid of heights, so probably not now. Definitely would have loved it at a young age. I think they open up so much floor space potential.

Of course, I'm a Rural Reveler too.

I used to love to sleep in a bunk bed when I was little. Does that count. I like your kitty!

First love the kittie!
Well I'm only 5'2" tall, so would it have side rails, I'm in if I CAN'T fall out!
Just think of all the storage.....

Dog Trot Farm said...

Hmmm... a platform bed, would that be a bed with lots of space for storage underneath? I could go for that....I might require a rail so not to fall out...land on the floor....break my back....I mean who would take care of Winslow Homer and my girl's? I bet that handsome boy of your's is loving it! Can't wait to see the reveal.

Oy, the falling dreams. Nope, I could not, would not. Besides the old arthritic husband and I, well you know, it would be tough on us old folks and our elderly pets :D But I love that picture of your cat, the male twin and that cool platform bed made by your hubby!

And I am a happy happy Rural Reveler!!

Okay, I have to just say this... Your cat has a wicked awesome face! Reminds me of Cats the musical.

Okay, well, I'm not sure if I could sleep on a platform bed! But you did get me thinking about beds, and how Dee will need one when she graduates from her crib....this one on the csn website is so pretty (and affordable!): Hillsdale Westfield Youth Bed.

I'm a reveler for sure! :o)

Good Morning Andrea!!! I wanna play! But first I want to give the cool cat a scritch. SCRITCH** Yes! You bet your country kitty I could sleep on a five foot platform bed. I would like to be a guest at your old Farmhouse and check out YOUR platform bed and see the beautiful bit of country you have there!!!! Thank you for the opportunity to win your giveaway :)

I couldn't do it... I'm not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of falling out of bed, even though it hasn't happened since I was about 8 years old. I've gotten kind of anxious just visiting people's apartments that had "sleeping lofts" accessible only by ladders.

Cassaundra Smith said...

I believe I am following your blog too. :)

No platform bed for me! I'm only 5'2" -- I'd never be able to get into the dang thing w/o a ladder!
