is much less stressful while traversing the back country roads instead of commuting on the highway.

I hope you were stopped when you took this photo, Andrea! LOL -- I'm glad you got some rain. Has it been hot and dry/or humid where you live lately like it has been here? We get thunderclouds coming thru in the late afternoons after all of the heat/humidity build-up, but we don't always get rain. I think you'll enjoy Prodigal Summer a lot. I've never actually read the book, but since about 2007, I've listened to it on CD 2 or 3 times each year since then, I love it that much. I love the way it follows the 3 women's lives, how they slowly become interconnected at the end of the novel. It's touching, and has a good bit of humor. Let me know how you like it. Hello Andrea! Oh boy it's really coming down on you isn't it. I know what you mean...at living out in the country we don't have to worry about other cars...just the odd telephone pole or culvert and maybe a tractor. I hope you needed the rain. Wow, quite the downpour! We had the black and greenish clouds, high winds, but only caught a few drops. Glad we got back from camping in time though.

I hate driving in traffic! Driving in the country is much better. I have learned every cure, odd twist, bumps in the road, where to pull over to let another car pass etc. And then I get behind someone who doesn't know any of this.
Then I see they have out-of-state license plates, and I go grrrrr!
But, then I am gratefull to the tourist $$$ they spend here to help our mountain parks stay beautiful!
And I go grrrrr, a little less!! :)

I LOVE downpours. OH how we need it here in southwestern Virginia! We had enough of city living for over 20 years... bring on the country rain!!
