I see things like that down here as well. I think some of them do it because the snow plows tend to knock over the mailboxes, but I think it just screams "country" and I love it!
Don't you love those? Our mailbox used to be set up with a milk can. Loved it, but unfortunately vandals knocked it over one too many times and I said enough already. Hubby put up a more sturdy post and the milk can is stored away. I miss it though :( -Tammy
I love your 'why I moved to the country' series! I love mailboxes, and the ingenious ways people display them. A house not too far from me has a mail box WAY up in the air, like 15 feet, and has 'airmail' written on it. Flat cracks me up every time I pass it.
GUESS WHAT!!! Today I made a trip to the Post Office and there was a package...FOR ME! SOOOO much fun!!! Thanks so much for sending the eco-friendly book as well as a BONUS! The BEAUTIFUL book of photos on Canada! MAGNIFICENT! THANK YOU!! I will put this lovely book out for all our customers to enjoy. What a sweet thing to do.
I am so happy, thanks so much for the great joy you give me in reading your blog. I love being your follower! ;)
Ooooh - those are cool! I am in the country (actually I live "in town" but the country is one-half mile away - in every direction) -but we do not see milk containers like that here in Georgia. -Trish

I just read a nww phrase...up-cycle instead of re-cycle...I would say this is up-cycle at its best!
