Where else can a boy hang out with his dad and learn

This is the kind of thing I was talking about in my post today. You can't learn to split wood where I live. I so appreciate your view from the country. Also, thank you for your kind comment.

Have a good evening.

J has been chopping and splitting wood since July! We heat by wood, although we do have 2 gas fireplaces, last year we did not use them! And saved a bundle of $$$!
Your kids are so very lucky to be growing up in the country. I really truly believe it makes for a well-rounded adult and learning to be self-sufficient!
Here is a link for a wonderful blog by a woman living in Brittany, France. I read it in English but you can set it to read in French!!

Have fun! Misha

Oh man! We need one of those gadgets! Hubby says he has log splitter envy :) Looks like a good lesson is taking place. Can't beat the country for growing up, but then again.. I'm a little biased ;-) Great picture! -Tammy

There are so many wonderful reasons to be in the country and that is surely one of them. Your "link within" pulled up some posts I haven't read so I'm off to visit them now.
