The big day, the grand affair, the event of the season, the wedding to end all weddings went off without a...gee, sorry but I can't resist, without a hitch! Unless you're country folk and you consider the nuptials part 'gettin' hitched' cuz we did indeed get 'hitched'!
It was a country wedding and what country wedding wouldn't be complete without a wee drizzle of rain and a lot of mud. Good old fashioned mud..yes sirree, it was a country wedding indeed cuz we had lots o' mud. So much, in fact, the wagon pullin' the bar-b-que to cook us our fixins got stuck in the mud. It took another wagon with a team of four horses, (that's 4 wheel drive for city folk) to pull the other wagon and it's cooker out of our backyard.
It was a speckled day of sun and rain, but it sweetly stopped long enough for us to say our vows on the freshly painted bridge, that was all gussied up by my mom and step-mom. During the service, I noticed a few raindrops splashing down serenely on the bible of our friend, Paul, who conducted the ceremony but it waited until everyone was in the tent, seated for dinner, before the skies let out one more large downpour. Notes of Pachelbel, played by Tobias, a very talented fellow, escorted my step-dad and I to the bridge. It was my husband's idea to have a violinist/fiddler and it was far and away the best part of the evening. His fiddle music enthralled everyone throughout dinner he had everyone singing and clapping and the bride and groom up dancing. Simply delightful.
So despite the reconfiguration of tents, the laying of tarps, mud, mud and more mud, it was a delightful day. It was relaxed, laid back, and a lot of fun. My guys looked very handsome indeed in their country gear and my daughter was nothing short of pure beauty in her sweet pink dress. We danced the night away on the bridge, most were barefoot, and we laughed and laughed and laughed some more. All weddings should be this fun. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
We didn't hire a photographer, we chose to rely on our friends and family to supply us with some wonderful photographic memories of our special day. Only a handful of guests have been able to get their pictures to us so far, but I think you'll agree, they did a fine job.

I am so thrilled to hear it all went beautifully and that you had such a good time! The pictures are awesome! You my dear, were gorgeous! Your daughter was darling in pink and the two boys were so handsome and dapper in their country attire. I hope many more pictures are to follow. It's such fun to "hear" the joy in your post. In my honest & humble opinion, this my dear is a perfect example of a perfect wedding. And the bride is absolutely stunning! Love the dress, the hair, everything!
